Casey Prior, a senior point guard at Fairfield University from Sea Girt, originally joined the Stags women’s basketball team as a walk-on.
At the conclusion of the team’s preseason international trip, her coaches and teammates surprised the local student-athlete by announcing that she had been awarded a full athletic scholarship.
Prior, who earned her spot on the roster through hard work and dedication as a walk-on, was celebrated by her team as she received the news during a team gathering abroad.
