Small mom and pop pharmacies
throughout the Garden State, including Township Pharmacy in Somerset, are now taking part in the
rollout of COVID-19 vaccines, in addition to large chain pharmacies.
Township Pharmacy just received a shipment of the Johnson & Johnson
vaccine and are ready to start distributing them to people in the community.
The small mom and pop pharmacy spent the last four months filling out paperwork,
training staff and investing tens of thousands of dollars to get ready for it.
It's been in business in the community for over 50
years and just moved to a location right across the way from the
old one. It has 100 doses of the vaccine to be distributed Monday.
"We've been waiting since December,” says manager Bobbie Caceres.
“We are registered. We had our freezer. We got all her paperwork state required
us. It was just a waiting game, doing orders, multiple orders every week, just
to try to get them for our customers."
Monday will be by appointment only through its
website. The pharrmacy now expects to continue getting
shipments weekly.
