Roller coaster enthusiasts rejoice, Six Flags Great Adventure has dropped its second teaser video for the park's highly anticipated new roller coaster.

"Security to base. Base, go ahead. I found something. Can you identify what it is?" a voice says in the teaser video. "Some type of shipping container. Something is trying to get out."

The teaser follows a mysterious shipping container, first seen washing ashore as activity intensifies around the construction site.

As crews attempt to move the container, a strange purple light begins to escape from within, raising even more questions about what has arrived at Six Flags Great Adventure, according to a press release.

The teaser is part of the park's "Project Purple" campaign, which represents the next major evolution of the new Boardwalk district following the recent opening of Shoreline Pier and its collection of family attractions and experiences.

"Each teaser is designed to reveal just enough to keep the story moving while leaving fans wanting more," said Ryan Eldredge, director of sales and marketing for Six Flags Great Adventure. "We've loved watching guests and coaster enthusiasts develop theories over the past week, and this latest chapter only adds to the anticipation as we count down to July 28."

The new coaster, currently known as Project Purple until its name is revealed July 28, recently reached 315 feet in height, making it the tallest structure in the theme park and visible from miles away.

When completed, it is expected to be one of the tallest roller coasters in the world, according to park officials.

"It's been a little while since we've embarked on a project of this size and scale," Eldredge said. "You'd have to go back to Kingda Ka in 2005 to find something this massive."

The new coaster is scheduled to open in 2027.
