Security remained tight at Newark Liberty International Airport Monday in light of the recent attack in Glasgow, Scotland and the bomb scares in London, England.
Port Authority police are out in full force as drivers pull up to drop travelers off. Police officers are also patrolling the terminals with K9 units.
Many travelers say they don?t mind the extra security and strict enforcement of the rules. They say they don?t mind the delays as long as they feel safe.
The Port Authority is advising travelers to allow extra time at the airports due to the tightened security. The delays at security checkpoints are expected well past the holiday.
The heightened security comes after two men drove a burning vehicle into a terminal building at Glasgow International Airport Saturday. On Friday, British police discovered two car bombs in London. So far, doctors from Iraq and Jordan are among the eight suspects arrested in the attack and attempted attacks.
