Police are searching for a group of young people who broke into a North Jersey farm late Saturday night.
Abma's Farm in Wyckoff posted about the incident on Facebook, saying the trespassers left the animals shaken and skittish.
One person was seen riding a miniature donkey, which is not meant to support the weight of a person.
“We found lipstick or lip gloss or something on one of our miniature ponies,” says owner Jimmy Abma.
The farm owners found out about the break-in after someone posted a picture on Snapchat and tagged the location.
The farm posted about the incident on its Facebook page, writing in part, "The safety of our animals has been compromised and that is not OK. Our animals are now shaken and [skittish] compared to their normal relaxed nature. This is very troubling to us."
Abma Farms has close to 60 animals including ducks, goats, pigs, rabbits, sheep, ponies and alpacas.
Abma says he can't go into detail because of the police investigation, but that multiple animals are now missing from the petting zoo.
