School bus service to resume Thursday for Neptune Township students

Students in Neptune Township will once again have a ride to school beginning Sept. 11.
Bus service was surprisingly and abruptly stopped Monday after an issue with the district's bus company: Seman-Tov Bus Company.
Superintendent Tami Crader announced the update Wednesday afternoon, saying the bus company has provided the required compliance documentation. The announcement also mentioned the school district told Seman-Tov "clear expectations" from here on out.
"We understand that this disruption has caused an inconvenience for many of our families, and we sincerely apologize for the impact it may have had on your routines," said Crader in the statement. "We appreciate your patience and understanding as we worked to resolve this matter."
This update is right on track with Crader’s Tuesday night announcement that residents could expect an update “by the end of day” Wednesday.
Since all of this unfolded Monday, Senator Vin Gopal has sent out a letter to the Department of Education, asking them to investigate the bus company’s abrupt cancellation.
News 12 reached out to the Department of Education for a response on Senator Gopal’s letter, but we haven’t heard back at this time.
