A handful of protesters gathered outside Elizabeth's Board of Education offices Sunday, chastising administrators for not doing more to stop school violence.
The latest incident resulted in a stabbing outside Jefferson House School Tuesday. The attack is only one of a number of violent attacks at the school.
According to police reports, a gunman entered Jefferson House School on Feb. 20 without being stopped by security. Several students say the suspect pulled his gun out and robbed them before leaving without being stopped.
Additionally, a 16-year-old male student was found guilty of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl inside the school last year.
Parents want better security and are demanding answers as to why these violent acts continue to pester the school. James Carey of the People's Organization for Progress says the ease with which the robbery suspect acted could have led to a worse situation.
"It had the complexion of a potential Columbine," he says.
