Even without snow in many backyards, there is still plenty on the mountain at Campgaw in Mahwah.

The Bergen County spot has been around for more than 55 years and offers skiing and snowboarding. For visitors looking for something that requires less skill, the mountain also has snow tubing.

County officials say Campgaw is a good place to learn before heading to major destinations. "This isn't a very advanced complex, but it gives you enough to learn the basics. There are lessons here you can take with professionals. So it's a great place, that's affordable," Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco said.

As long as Mother Nature allows, Campgaw is open now through March. Tickets can be purchased online.
