This morning, there may be some extra congestion as you drive into Jersey City and Hoboken due to a road closure.
There are inspectors expected on site at the corner of Marin Boulevard and Bloomfield Street. The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has announced the closure of Marin Boulevard and Henderson Street between 18th Street in Jersey City and Observer Highway in Hoboken.
The closure was originally scheduled to begin earlier this summer, and this will allow for the next phase of construction of the Rebuild by Design - a project to help fight against storm surge flooding. This phase of construction is anticipated to last approximately four months.
The closure is necessary due to the location of the gate crossing in the roadway - Traffic mitigation plans will be implemented prior to the closure, to make it possible to get around.
