A strike was avoided at Jersey Shore University Medical Center after they and the nurse’s union reached a tentative agreement on a new contract.
The contract includes a minimum nurse-to-patient ratio, better pay, and violence prevention measures.
The president of the union says the language negotiated also allows the hospital to retain current staff and attract new nurses.
