Reports of a weapon at Parsippany Hills High School led to a lockdown Tuesday afternoon.
Parsippany police received reports that a gun was possibly found at the school. The school was immediately placed on lockdown following the reports.
Police responded to the school to investigate the claims. No one was allowed into or out of the school and traffic was diverted to keep unauthorized vehicles off school grounds.
After the investigation, police found that reports of a firearm in the school were incorrect. The lockdown was then lifted.
The Parsippany Police Department would like to remind all parents that they should refrain from coming to the school during incidents like this as it could jeopardize the safety of all involved.
