Rep. Josh Gottheimer announced Friday that he's running for governor of New Jersey.
Gottheimer made the announcement official just one week after winning a fifth term in the House of Representatives.
Gottheimer earned his House seat years ago by ousting a conservative Republican.
"So today, I am launching my campaign for the governor to cut your taxes and make Jersey more affordable again,” he said.
Gottheimer joins a crowded field, including Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop, Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, former lawmaker Sean Sweeney, Jack Citarelli and John Bramnick.
