It's been an entire decade since Superstorm Sandy ravaged the city, shuttering businesses and causing countless communities to pick up the pieces.
Ben Schneider owns The Good Fork pub in Red Hook and still remembers the floodwaters from Superstorm Sandy that tore through his business. He says it caused tens of thousands of dollars worth of damage.
"Meters and panels and wiring and all that stuff needed to be redone because it was exposed to the salt water, and then in the dining room, we had to replace the dry wall and paneling up to about knee-high because that's how high the water came," Schneider said.
Schneider says the community rallied around him and helped him get his restaurant up and running again in just two months.
While his business is now thriving, he says there are parts of Red Hook that still need work.
