A rabies alert is currently in effect for Washington Township in Gloucester County after a raccoon tested positive for the virus.
According to health officials, a raccoon found last Wednesday at 25 Alton Way tested positive for rabies.
A Gloucester County Animal Control Officer says the raccoon was said to be aggressively charging at people.
There have been no known human exposures with the animal.
