Tropical Storm Fay knocked out power to thousands of New Jersey residents Friday evening due to heavy rain and strong wind.
PSE&G brought on extra personnel who were ready and prepared to respond to power outages caused by the storm
The utility company also encouraged customers to prepare for possible flooding and power outages caused by the storm.

"Tropical storms can change rapidly, causing widespread damage," said Jack Bridges, PSE&G's vice president for Electric Operations. "We have crews available to respond to any service interruptions that may occur and we encourage customers to contact us immediately should they experience an outage."
Customers were urged to be cautious and stay alert to their surroundings during and after storms. Customers were also urged to charge phones, tablets, power backups and other mobile devices.
