Prospect Park is considering a ban on smoking at Hofstra Park.
If the new law passes, anyone who smokes in the park would face a hefty fine. The ordinance was originally proposed by Prospect Park Mayor Mohamed Khairullah.
The borough council in Prospect Park is expected to pass the ordinance without opposition. It would go into effect by the start of spring.
