Prosecutor: New DNA tests solve 1991 rape, murder case under ramp at boardwalk
Authorities say new DNA tests have allowed them to solve the rape and murder of a woman whose body was found nearly three decades ago under a ramp at the Asbury Park boardwalk.
According to the Monmouth County prosecutor's office, Clarence Turnage, who died back in 2014, has been identified as the attacker.
The prosecutor's office is still trying to confirm that Christa Engel was the woman whose body was found under the ramp in March 1991.
Prosecutors say they hoped release of the information will prompt a relative of the victim to come forward.
