A Lodi man was charged in the deadly shooting of a Passaic man in Hoboken on Feb. 1.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office says Erick Fernandez, 26, shot Julio Flores, 23, along the Hoboken Waterfront near the Castle Point Skate Park.

Officials say that the Lodi Police Department contacted the Hoboken Police Department after receiving multiple tips that a person was shot and killed in a restricted area along the waterfront.

Authorities were able to identify Fernandez as the alleged shooter. They say that he took some of the victim’s personal belongings after shooting him, including Flores’ vehicle. Officials also say Fernandez returned to the scene later to dispose of Flores’ body in the Hudson River.

Officials say the body has not yet been recovered.

Fernandez faces multiple charges, including first-degree murder.
