Presidential hopeful John Edwards made a campaign stop in New Jersey Tuesday, following recent visits by Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.
The Democratic presidential candidate was in New Jersey to try and boost support for his White House bid. His first stop was in Summit to tour a stem cell research lab for Celgene Corporation with state Senate President Richard Codey.
Meanwhile, a Fairleigh Dickinson University Public Mind poll has Edwards trailing Clinton by a more than 4 to 1 margin with registered Democrats in the state. Edwards acknowledged the differences in the polls, but said he believes he?s the Democrat with the best chance of beating the Republican candidate in the general election.
Edwards is also scheduled to attend a fundraiser in Montclair Tuesday night.
