The BEACH Act, a 23-year-old federal law that funds water quality testing at beaches across the United States is up for renewal.

One of the sponsors of that bill is Democratic Rep. Frank Pallone, who is touting proposed changes that would improve testing and provide more funding for anti-pollution projects.

The changes to the bill got News 12’s Brian Donohue wondering if today’s younger beachgoers remember the days when the Jersey Shore was headed toward a dirty water disaster.
