Traffic is moving again on the George Washington Bridge after the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey warned drivers that there could be big delays during the morning commute.

The George Washington bus terminal, bus station and North Walkway have reopened.

The delays were due to police activity around the George Washington Bridge.

Columbia University Public Safety sent out an alert that said local law enforcement received credible information about plans for a protest on the George Washington Bridge this morning as early as 7 a.m. aimed at disrupting travel and commerce.

News 12 does not know what role, if any, protests might be playing in the delays. So far, News 12 has not seen or heard of any protests.
