Police say a woman was struck and killed by a vehicle on Route 15 in Jefferson.

Officers say Anne Belcastro, of Lake Hopatcong, was crossing the road Saturday when she was hit.

Belcastro was transported to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Authorities say Belcastro had been a passenger in a car that was stopped at a light when she left the car to walk across Route 15.

An investigation is underway.
