Authorities in Trenton are asking for the public's help in their investigation of a Friday night shooting that claimed the life of a 9-year-old girl.

Police say officers responded to a fistfight in a large crowd at 7:30 p.m. in Kingsbury Square.

They say the shooter is still at large.

Mayor Reed Gusciora called it a "shocking and horrific" murder.

"Our hearts grieve for the family, for the little girl whose life was cut down so short," Gusciora said.

Authorities are asking anyone with information into the shooting to call (609) 989-4155.

Gusciora said some witnesses have been interviewed.
