Police are asking for the public’s help identifying the person responsible for robbing a woman at gunpoint Saturday near the Rutgers-Newark campus.

Authorities say it happened just before 6 p.m. at the intersection of 12th Avenue and Camden Street.

The suspect approached her, pulled out a handgun and stole items of value.

The robber then fled on foot, leaving the woman unharmed.

Police say the victim is not affiliated with the school.

Authorities have yet to release a description of the suspect.
