Police in Hackensack say a woman has been arrested and charged for assaulting a woman who recently had liver transplant surgery and asked the other woman to properly wear her face mask.
The incident happened last month at a Staples in Hackensack.
According to police, Margot Kagan, 54, of Teaneck, had told Terri Thomas to pull her face mask over her mouth and nose.
Police say Thomas then became angry, yelled at the victim, and violently threw her to the ground. The incident was caught on surveillance video.
Kagan suffered a fractured left tibia which required surgery.
Thomas has been charged with aggravated assault. She was released on a summons pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Municipal Court in Hackensack later this month.
