A police source tells News 12 New Jersey that the Old Bridge man, who is believed to have killed his ex-wife and kidnapped his kids, used pills to commit suicide.
Police say Anthony Trapp took Emma and Sophia Trapp to the Bear Mountain Bridge Motel in Fort Montgomery, N.Y. after killing their mother.
New York State Police and a New Jersey SWAT team swarmed the hotel after receiving a call early this morning that he checked in there at around 7:30 p.m. last night.
Officials say Trapp's two girls walked out of the motel room at around 7:30 a.m. Two hours later police sent in a robot. The SWAT team then entered and found Trapp dead. The girls are said to be doing alright after being evaluated at a nearby hospital. The girls are currently with their grandparents. An autopsy on Anthony Trapp is scheduled to be performed tomorrow.
