Police in a Hudson County town say that two high school freshman disrupted the school’s Wi-Fi system so they could get out of taking exams.

The Secaucus High School students allegedly used an app to crash the school’s internet. Police say that the boys took requests from other students to bring down the network.

A spokesperson for the school district said in a statement, “Our Wi-Fi connection was compromised over the past week. We have conducted an investigation and at the present time, we have determined that two students may have been involved in the disruption of our system. The system has been restored and is now fully operational.”

The students’ names have not been released due to their age.

They were charged with computer criminal activity.
