Police in Fair Lawn rescued an 86-year-old woman who became trapped in a rabbit cage.

The incident happened over the weekend.

According to police, officers found the victim after responding to an alert for a lift assist at a River Road senior citizens apartment.

It’s unknown how long the woman was stuck there.

The incident appears to be an accident.
