Police in Bogota are looking for a crew of up to five people that robbed a convenience store on Sunday and may be responsible for several other similar incidents in recent months. In the latest case, surveillance cameras captured one woman and three men scam $2,000 from a clerk at the Dazo Convenience Food Store. The video shows that the woman entered the store, started a conversation with the clerk but did not buy anything. A man then came in to buy milk, followed by a third person who purchased a phone card and threw crumpled-up money on the counter. He ran out as the clerk realized he didn't leave enough money. The woman opens the door so the clerk could chase after the man, and that's when police say Carlos Salas, the one person they have identified in the incident, came in and stole about $2,000 in bagged money from under the counter. Police say one other person may have been involved in the robbery.Nearby police departments now say the group may have robbed a number of other stores using the same scam. Back in December, police say the same group took $7,000 from the Welsh Farms store on Queen Anne Road. Police are warning other convenience-store clerks to keep an eye out for suspicious activity.
