Police say a Bayonne man shot his estranged wife after she filed for divorce.
Officers found the woman in her Jersey City home on Thursday. They say she had been shot eight times.
Her estranged husband, Marc Harrison, of Bayonne, was arrested and faces a charge of attempted murder, plus several weapons charges.
The woman was hospitalized in critical condition.
The woman's three young children were apparently not home when the shooting occurred.
