New Jersey State Police say that a man wearing “military-style” face paint and wearing camouflage robbed a toll booth attendant.
The robbery happened Monday just before 7:45 p.m. at the Exit 15W toll plaza.
Police say that after driving up to the toll, the man got out of his car and pressed a knife to the attendant and demanded the money from the cash drawer. The man then got back into his car and drove away toward Interstate 280 West.
The male suspect is believed to be Hispanic, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a zip-up camouflage sweatshirt with maroon accents, in addition to the face paint.
His female passenger is also believed to be Hispanic, in her 20s and was seen wearing a yellow shirt or dress with multicolored tassels, according to police.
The couple was traveling in a black, newer model Toyota Camry with no license plate. An image of the car was captured on a surveillance camera.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the New Jersey State Police Newark Station at 732-441-4500 Ext 1430.
