Authorities say one person is in custody after officers uncovered a mobile meth lab in a four-door sedan.

Wayne police say two officers noticed a red Chrysler Sebring stopped in the parking lot of the Ramada Inn and Tilted Kilt on Route 46 just before 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say the officers approached the vehicle and observed 34-year-old Christopher Poole, of Camden County, mixing several substances that filled the car with white fumes.

Authorities say Poole told officers he was mixing several chemicals in an effort to manufacture methamphetamine. Ammonia, lighter fluid, lithium and cough medicine were among the ingredients found in the vehicle.

Poole was taken into custody and held on $5,000 bail. He faces charges including possession of and manufacturing meth, according to police.

The Wayne Volunteer Fire Department and Wayne Memorial First Aid Squad were called to the scene, as well as the Passaic County Sheriff Department's bomb squad and the Drug Enforcement Administration clandestine lab group to help in dismantling the operation.
