Authorities have identified the man who they believe gunned down a Bronx woman just steps away from her Williamsbridge home last week.
According to police, 23-year-old Brendrick "Diddy" Brown shot and killed 31-year-old Dune Janelle Jacobs in the early hours of Dec. 2 as she was walking on East 213th Street and Carlisle Place.
Investigators say Brown mistook Jacobs for another person he was looking for because of a feud between two street crews. Police say Brown was already on federal probation in South Carolina for a grand larceny case in 2012.
Officers nearby spotted and followed a white Altima driving away from the scene, and eventually witnessed a semi-automatic handgun being thrown from the car.
Three suspects are already in custody in connection with the fatal shooting, but Brown remains at large. He was last seen at a relative's home in South Carolina just three days after Jacobs was killed.
News 12 is told the only person who called 911 after the shooting was a man who said a bullet hit his parked car, unaware anyone had been hit.
Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-577-TIPS.
