Police in Union County say that they want to know who painted a fake crosswalk at a busy and dangerous intersection.
The fake crossing was discovered Thursday at the intersection of Vauxhall Road and Brookside Drive in Union Township.
Police say that this intersection has a large curve, making it dangerous for pedestrians to cross in the area. They suggest that pedestrians use the legitimate crosswalks that are nearby.
Union Township police, along with other agencies have been highlighting pedestrian safety recently due to the start of the new school year and an increase in the number of children who will be crossing the street.
The fake crosswalk has been painted over.
Anyone who has any information about the fake crosswalk should call Union Township police at 908-851-5000.
