yesterdayA 68-year-old Elizabeth man accused of sexually assaulting two children is facing a slew of charges.
Police say Luis Pauta Matute assaulted the victims in Elizabeth and Kenilworth between 2013 and 2021.
The charges against him include four counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, three counts of second-degree sexual assault and three counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
Pauta Matute is scheduled to appear in a detention hearing next Tuesday.
