Police are investigating a theft at a senior housing complex in Parsippany they believe was an inside job.
Betty Dickinson says someone stole her peace of mind, along with jewelry, cash and bonds at her Baldwin Oaks apartment. ?Everything of mine was gone through ? which was a violation,? Dickinson said. ?It upset me.?
The stolen jewels had an estimated value of $17,000. However, the 80-year-old grandmother says the jewelry pieces were family heirlooms and feels she can?t put a monetary value on that.
Police say there was no sign of forced entry. Dickinson says she never leaves her door unlocked. Dickinson believes someone with a master key has been entering her apartment for a while. She says over a year ago, she noticed liquor missing from her cabinet.
Dickinson is confident police will catch the thief or thieves.
