Woodbridge police say they are coordinating with SWAT teams to get an armed suspect to surrender after barricading themselves at a gas station on US 1&9.

Authorities say the suspect, after being stopped by police, reportedly fired shots.

Police have surrounded the station since the initial call came in around 7 p.m. Friday.

Police are urging the public to avoid the area as they work to resolve the situation safely.

The two right lanes on US 1&9 are currently closed for traffic.
