Seven people were arrested at Teterboro Airport on Thursday, according to Port Authority police.
The people were part of an environmental activist protest.
The group New York Communities for Change posted on Twitter that the activists were joining protests across the world to shut down private airports.
Teterboro Airport is the busiest private airport in the United States, according to the group.
“Billionaires produce a million times more climate pollution than the average person,” the Twitter post read.
Local police helped to break up the protest.
It was unclear why the seven were arrested, but Port Authority police say they will face numerous charges.
