A 4-year-old died from an apparent self-inflected gunshot wound to the head in Browns Mills on Friday, police say.
They say it happened at around 7 p.m.
Police arrived to the home on Maricopa Trail to find Lincoln Mack with a gunshot wound to his cheek.
The 4-year-old was rushed to Capital Health at Deborah Emergency Services where Mack was declared dead at 8 p.m.
It is unclear how Mack acquired the gun or if the family faces any charges.
Mack's parents and two siblings were inside the home at the time of the shooting. The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed as of now.
Neighbors say they were shocked when they saw the large police presence.
"It's a nice neighborhood, it's a quiet neighborhood," says Edward Kinsler. "You definitely don't see a lot of police cars and stuff out here."
Police are investigating.
