An 18-year-old man from Gloucester City, Camden County was killed in a car crash on Interstate 95 in Maryland, according to Maryland State Police.
The crash happened on Sunday just before 7 p.m. Officials say that Gage Meyers was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Sonic and rear-ended a Toyota Highlander, which then rear-ended a Toyota Rav4. Meyers died at the scene. His 19-year-old passenger was injured and taken to a hospital in Delaware via helicopter.
A woman and two children in the Toyota Highlander were also injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.
Meyers was a 2023 graduate of Gloucester City High School.
“Gage was a wonderful young man with a kind heart and handsome, infectious smile. Please consider donating to his memorial,” a post on the high school’s Facebook page stated.
That post also identified Meyers’ passenger as 19-year-old Rylee McNee.
A GoFundMe page for Meyers’ family has raised more than $25,000.
