Police: 1 man charged, 1 on the run in gunfire exchange in Roselle that caused school lockdown

Police arrested 18-year-old Rood Theluscat, who now faces weapons charges.

A Linden man has been charged in connection to a gunfire exchange in Roselle on Monday that forced some schools to go into lockdown.

The gunfire happened just after 12 p.m. Monday near Walnut Street. Police say two vehicles were involved in a car chase that ended in gunfire. Police say a man in one of the cars ran off after crashing.

Police arrested 18-year-old Rood Theluscat, who now faces weapons charges. Police say they recovered a gun at the scene.

Authorities are still looking for that second person who ran away.

No injuries were reported.
