While the U.S. swimming champion Michael Phelps continues to break records and stockpile gold medals in Beijing, some New Jersey businesses are capitalizing on Phelps-mania that has swept the nation.

Phelps?s string of victories at the Olympic Games has translated into a spike in sales on swimsuits with his name on them at local stores. In fact, anything Phelps related is selling out.

Phelps? former swim captain and 2000 Olympic Games Bronze medalist, Tom Wilkes is not surprised at the Phelps craze.

"He's physically talented, probably more gifted than anyone I've ever seen,? Wilkins says. "He works hard, he does everything right, sort of like he caught lightning in a bottle."

Wilkes adds that it makes him glad to know a swimmer can turn mainstream and make a living out of his sport.

He says Phelps has come a long way since the 2000 games and expects him to keep on breaking records.

?I wouldn't be surprised if he's back in another four years,? Wilkes says.

Since the opening of the Beijing Games, Phelps set an Olympic record with 11 career gold medals, making him the most decorated athlete in history of the Games. He has three races left, with the next one scheduled for Thursday, .
