Nassau County police say a person was hospitalized in Massapequa on Wednesday. The 84-year-old victim’s son says his home security cameras captured the health care aide getting into bed with his mother and then stabbing her while she was asleep.

Police responded to a call for an assault on Bay Drive around 8 a.m.

Sources say it was a targeted attack and that no one is currently in custody.

Police say the victim is in stable condition. Schools were temporarily placed in lockout during the police response.
