A Brick Township woman was charged Saturday for the attempted murder of her 2-year-old brother.

Marlene Rodriguez was arrested after officers responding to a 911 call found the child with a stab wound to his chest.

The boy was taken to Jersey Shore University Hospital and is listed in stable condition, according to Ocean County prosecutors.

Rodriguez, 20, is in the Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing.
