Patrick Reed has won The Northern Trust at Liberty National Golf Course in Jersey City, finishing the event 16-under par after going more than a year without a victory.
“It felt amazing being back in that position and having a chance to go into Sunday with the lead and to flip the round around in the middle of it was a great feeling to do,” says Reed.
Reed, who was also the 2016 Northern Trust champion, finished at 16-under to secure his first PGA tour win of the year.
“I was able to go into that mentality and go out and attack the holes I knew were gettable and try to make it as stress free as possible on the holes I knew were the hard ones,” says Reed.

Both John Rahm and Abraham Ancer gave Reed some pressure in the final few holes. Ancer finished just one shot behind Reed to secure second place, while Rahm finished in a tie for third with Harold Varner.

“It is what it is, it's golf, I gave myself and great chance, I had a lot of fun but towards the end I couldn't make the putts and get it done, it's how it is,” says Rahm.

Both Rahm and Ancer also moved up in the FedEx Cup standings and are part of the 70 golfers that will advance to next week’s BMW Championship in Chicago.
