Security wait times were steady at about 15 minutes on Wednesday morning at all gates in Terminal A at Newark Liberty International Airport.

The short waits come despite a partial government shutdown that began on Feb. 14, leaving TSA employees working without pay.

Since the shutdown started, many workers have quit and call‑outs have more than doubled nationwide.

The airport has had long lines for most of this week.

Employees in Terminal A say crowds often grow heavier at night, especially during the busy spring break period.
