A center meant to help parents in Paterson may need some help of its own.
The Marilyn J. Morheauser Parent Resource Center was issued a subpoena last month from the state attorney general. Attorney Theodore Kyles represents New Jersey Association of Parent Coordinators Group, the organization that operates the center, and Anna Taliaferro, the woman who runs it. The center administers outreach programs for parents.
Kyles says Taliaferro?s offices were raided last month as part of an ongoing investigation by the state attorney general. Kyles confirms more than 26 items were requested for a grand jury review, including e-mails from Taliaferro?s computer, bank account information, tax forms and records involving a co-worker.
Kyles insists Taliaferro is not the target of the investigation and will not appear before the grand jury.
The grand jury convenes October 4 at 10 a.m. in Trenton.
