Black History Month is being celebrated through art in Paterson.
The city hosts an art exhibit every year. This year’s theme is “Hidden Figures.”
The artwork is created by local artists. The Paterson art commissioner says that the artwork honors “the history, achievements and culture of Black Americans.”
"We have abstract work, we have social conscious work. Some work that's three-dimensional, and just two-dimensional. They speak to a variety of different topics, issues and themes, surrounded in Black history,” says Christopher Fabor Muhammad.
The exhibit runs through the end of the month at Paterson City Hall.
