7h agoSome residents at a Parkchester condo complex say they are getting relief from a noise issue at night following a News 12 story.
Barricades and construction cones are still up, but things have been smoothed over along Dogwood Drive, where a metal plate that caused banging noises in the neighborhood has since been removed.
The plate was removed and replaced by asphalt. Cars would drive over the metal plate, causing an echoing boom throughout the neighborhood, keeping residents up – including Sinatra Williams, a disabled veteran and resident who says the noises triggered his PTSD at times.

“Totally, totally different… it’s quiet, it’s peaceful like it usually is,” said Williams.
Maintenance workers told News 12 last week the plate was there to cover the ground where an electrical line was being replaced. News 12 has reached out to the property manager for more information on that line and is awaiting a response.
