The family of an organ donor met with the man who their loved one saved.
The family of Randy Giles met with Mike Callahan and his family at the New Jersey Sharing Network headquarters in New Providence.
Callahan received Giles’ lungs when Giles died in 2012.
Giles was a surgeon who longed believed in organ donation, according to his family. His parents, wife and sons met the Callahans, who are from Rhode Island.
The visit also coincided with the unveiling of a plague to honor Giles. It is with about a dozen others inside the Landscape of Life mediation garden at the Sharing Network HQ.
